Introduction and Storyboarding

Right off the bat, I can see myself struggling really badly because of the software that we are going to work with: Adobe After Effects. To begin with, I started off by story boarding the animation that I am hoping to create.

When thinking about the story board, I first thought about what I wanted to express with my animation. Apart from the basics of the movement of the dolphins, I also wanted to focus on how they are going extinct. So by thinking about the animation and transitions at the same time, I started mapping it out on a sheet of paper.

First story board

This story board depicts an animation in which the main story line is based on the reason why the dolphin are on the brink on extinction. I also feel that the change in scenes and the movement makes the composition as a whole very dynamic which I really like.

Critique

  • There is a well established story line which is great
  • Think about the time that the dolphin would be in the scene. Who is the main hero?
  • The first scene of the moving fish would be difficult considering my skill level and the subsequent effect that would have on the animation
